Accor And Interglobe Forge A New Landmark Partnership To Redefine Hospitality In India

This collaboration provides a unique network, diverse brands, and broad distribution across market segments.

Accor & Interglobe Join Forces

Accor and InterGlobe have announced an expanded partnership, with the goal of creating India’s fastest-growing Hospitality Enterprise in a move set to transform the country's hospitality industry. This collaboration will offer a unique network, a wide range of brands, and comprehensive distribution across various market segments. To capitalize on the booming hospitality market in India and utilize the advantages of international industry leaders, the new initiative targets the establishment of a network of 300 hotels featuring Accor brands by 2030.

A STRATEGIC ALLIANCE BUILT ON STRENGTH

This landmark partnership combines the unique strengths of each stakeholder:

  • Accor, a leading global hospitality group, has established an impressive presence in India over the last many years. It currently operates 71 hotels in the country, with 40 more in development, spanning from economy to luxury brands. Through this alliance, Accor will significantly expand its footprint and streamline operations, deepening its commitment to solid growth in the Indian market across all segments, from economy to lifestyle and luxury.
  • InterGlobe, a leading Indian conglomerate, brings its unparalleled expertise in travel and hospitality, coupled with a proven entrepreneurial track record in aviation (IndiGo), hotels (in India and Internationally), airline management, logistics, travel and AI-enabled technology. InterGlobe is the largest stakeholder of IndiGo, India’s largest airline, with over 400 aircraft serving over 130 destinations and more than 2200 daily flights, carrying over 118 million passengers in FY 25. It is one of the most valued airlines globally regarding market capitalization.

UNLEASHING INDIA’S HOSPITALITY POTENTIAL

  • India's economy is projected to grow at around 7 % GDP, alongside its population of 1.4 billion. By 2027, it is set to rank as the world's fifth-largest outbound travel market and the third-largest domestic travel market. Factors such as a burgeoning middle class, enhanced infrastructure, and better air connectivity are driving a remarkable surge in both domestic tourism and international travel, especially to the Middle East and Asia Pacific, where Accor dominates as the top hotel operator.
  • India’s hotel industry is still quite fragmented, which offers significant opportunities for organized, branded companies. Accor plans to enhance its enduring strategic partnership with InterGlobe to fully realize India’s hospitality potential, spearheading the sector's transformation to better serve Indian travelers both locally and abroad.

A BOLD EXPANSION STRATEGY

This strategic collaboration between Accor and InterGlobe is structured around the following key initiatives:

Creating a hospitality powerhouse covering all segments

  • Accor and InterGlobe will merge their owned assets along with their development and management operations in the country to create a unified, independent platform.
  • This newly established entity will serve as the exclusive means for expanding all Accor brands in India, encompassing luxury and lifestyle brands from Ennismore, which is part of Accor’s hospitality portfolio.
  • Accor will maintain leadership in operations and brand management, offering complete access to its brands and services.

Exclusive partnership with Treebo

  • Treebo, one of India’s leading branded budget hotel platforms, manages 800 hotels across 120 cities through its unique tech-driven approach and efficient distribution systems. Accor and InterGlobe will jointly invest in and become the largest shareholders in Treebo. Through a master license agreement, Treebo will take the lead in developing the Ibis and Mercure brands in India.
  • Under this partnership, Treebo agreed with various property owners to sign ten new Mercures, marking a significant milestone in India’s brand expansion.
  • Accor’s brands will leverage Treebo’s technology to tap into India’s vast unbranded hotel market and accelerate growth. The combined Accor and Treebo portfolio will create India’s third-largest hospitality player, with over 30,000 rooms.

A GAME-CHANGER FOR INDIAN HOSPITALITY AND ACCOR BRANDS IN INDIA

United by a common vision to revolutionize India’s hospitality sector, the partnership between InterGlobe and Accor aims to significantly enhance Accor’s footprint in India, targeting 300 hotels under its brands by 2030. This collaboration merges Accor’s worldwide hospitality expertise with InterGlobe’s extensive market insight and entrepreneurial spirit, all while harnessing Treebo’s innovative tech-driven operational successes to reshape the hospitality scene in India.

Sébastien Bazin, Chairman & CEO of Accor said: "This landmark partnership marks a transformative moment for Accor and its brands in India.
