TAT and AirAsia Celebrate Skytrax Win with Krabi Fam Trip to Promote Green Season Travel

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in partnership with AirAsia, hosted the “AirAsia Skytrax 16 Years Celebration” trip in Krabi from 19 to 21 June. Over 120 key opinion leaders (KOLs) and media from across Asia were welcomed. The event aimed to boost Green Season tourism and spotlight Krabi’s safety, sustainability, and travel appeal.
AirAsia Unveils “Still Winning, Still Gold” Aircraft

A highlight of the trip was the arrival of AirAsia’s specially designed “Still Winning, Still Gold” aircraft, celebrating the airline’s 16th consecutive win as World’s Best Low-Cost Airline by Skytrax. The aircraft was welcomed in Krabi on 19 June with an official ceremony at Krabi International Airport.

Showcasing Krabi’s Tourism Strengths

The family trip included a welcoming dinner at The Beach Krabi, featuring cultural performances, eco-printing demos, Thai wellness, and a presentation of TAT Connex, a digital platform connecting KOLs with Thai tourism content to amplify global visibility.

Key experiences included mangrove tours in Ban Thung Yee Peng and marine conservation around Ko Ngai, showcasing Krabi’s eco-tourism leadership and improved visitor safety infrastructure.
Krabi Tourism: A Rising Star
In 2023, Krabi attracted 6.3 million visitors, generating over 90 billion Baht in revenue. Iconic attractions like Maya Bay, Phi Phi Islands, and Railay Beach continue to receive global acclaim. Maya Bay was recently named the world’s most Instagrammable beach by Heepsy and featured in top lists by Lonely Planet and Beach Atlas. Krabi is also a popular filming location, including for Jurassic World Rebirth.
Under its “Krabi Goes Green” initiative, the province remains a frontrunner in sustainable tourism and environmental conservation, supported by both public and private sectors.
AirAsia Celebrates Skytrax Milestone

AirAsia’s Skytrax recognition celebrates 16 years of excellence. The airline has served over 1 billion passengers since 2001.
