Egyptair All Set To Connect Delhi-Cairo Daily

As an answer to the increasing travel routine between India and Egypt and to promote the exchange of tourists even further, Egyptair, the state-owned flag carrier of Egypt, plans to fly out daily fights between the two capitals.

The airline currently offers nine weekly flights that connect Cairo to India, where five of these flights are from Mumbai and the remaining four are from New Delhi. According to Amr Aly, General Manager - International Relations & Organisations, Egyptair, the airline now plans to increase the number to a daily basis for New Delhi. “Since the launch of the direct flight last year, we have witnessed a notable increase in travel, business, and cultural exchanges between Egypt and India. This move to daily flights is set to further augment these ties.” The flight will also help the passengers in transit and aid the increased number of tourists travelling to both places.

According to a statement published by Egyptair, the “milestone comes on the heels of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Egypt last year, which further strengthened the ties between the two nations. Shortly after his visit, Egyptair inaugurated its first direct flight from Cairo to New Delhi, marking a significant step in bolstering travel and cultural exchange.”

Egyptair first started its operation in India more than four decades ago, but the flight route directly connecting the two capitals was only kicked off in August 2023. The announcement also aims to strengthen the ties between Egypt and India.
