Biju Patnaik Airport's 5 New Routes Unveiled

Earlier this month, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi announced that the New Destination Policy has incentivized airlines to expand operations at Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda airports

The Biju Patnaik International Airport announced on Thursday that it will introduce flight services to five new destinations starting in 2025. An airport official stated that IndiGo will operate flights to Indore four times a week and to Dehradun three times a week, beginning on January 1, 2025. The scheduled departure time for these flights from Bhubaneswar will be at 3 PM.

Air India Express will launch new flights from Bhubaneswar to Lucknow and Jaipur three times a week starting January 3 of next year. Additionally, there will be daily flights to Cochin. According to the official, the airport authorities also plan to begin new flights to Bengaluru on January 4.

Biju Patnaik Airport is an international airport that serves Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, India. It is located approximately 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) southwest of the Bhubaneswar Railway Station and 6 kilometres (3.7 miles) from the city centre. The airport is named after Biju Patnaik, the former Chief Minister of Odisha and a renowned aviator and freedom fighter. It ranks as the 14th busiest airport in India and the 11th busiest among airports managed by the Airports Authority of India.
