Air India Express to Expand with New Bangkok Flights

With these new routes, the airline will connect 51 cities across India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia

Air India Express will begin flights to Bangkok from Surat and Pune on December 20, marking Thailand's capital as its 15th international destination. The Tata Group airline will also launch services in Dimapur, Nagaland, and Patna, Bihar. With these new routes, the airline will connect 51 cities across India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

"Operations to Bangkok will commence on 20th December 2024, with direct flights connecting Surat and Pune to the vibrant capital of Thailand. Additionally, the airline strengthens its domestic network by launching services to Dimapur and Patna, offering daily direct connectivity between Dimapur and Guwahati, and Patna and Bengaluru and Hyderabad," the airline said in a release on Wednesday.

Air India Express, following the merger with AIX Connect, is expanding its network. With Bangkok now serving as its 50th destination, Aloke Singh, the Managing Director of Air India Express, stated that the airline is swiftly increasing its presence in Southeast Asia. This latest network expansion aligns with the strategy of connecting non-metro areas to both international destinations and major Indian cities, which promotes economic growth and tourism. Currently, the airline has a fleet of 90 planes and operates over 400 flights daily.
