Transforming Dharoi Dam: The Future of Green Tourism in Gujarat

The state government of Gujarat is undertaking a major initiative to enhance tourism in the northern region. The Dharoi Dam area is being developed into a sustainable destination to attract tourists. The project aims to connect key sites within a 90-km radius, including Vadnagar, Tauranga, Ambaji, and Rani Ki Vav. It is planned in three phases and has an estimated budget of INR 1100 crore.

The development plan includes the creation of an Adventure Water Sports Arena, a River Edge Development Leisure Show Infrastructure with an Amphitheatre, and theme parks such as Panchatatva Park and Naad Brahm Upavan. Additionally, a Visitor Centre and a Water Experience Park are part of the proposal to provide diverse recreational activities and enhance the visitor experience.

Surrounding pilgrimage sites like Ambaji, Hatkeshwar Temple, and Vadnagar will complement these efforts, enhancing the area’s appeal. Jasmine anticipates this initiative will boost local revenue and establish Dharoi as a cultural and tourism hub.
