Milestones in Air India's Five-Year Journey
As Air India continues its transformation journey, here's a look at how the airline has enhanced your travel experience. Part I of this series focuses on key inflight features, from onboard Wi-Fi to luxury amenity kits.
1. Onboard Wi-Fi at 35,000 feet
Air India has launched a new Wi-Fi service that lets you stay connected with your loved ones during your flight. This service is available on domestic and international flights operated by its Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, and select Airbus A321neo aircraft. For a limited introductory period, Wi-Fi access is complimentary. With this offering, Air India becomes the first Indian carrier to provide in-flight Wi-Fi on domestic flights, enabling you to browse social media, catch up on work, or text friends and family. The service will gradually be rolled out to other aircraft in the future.

2. Vista Stream – Air India’s wireless in-flight entertainment
The 'Vista Stream' in-flight entertainment system offers an impressive library with over 1,800 hours of content, including Bollywood and Hollywood movies, documentaries, TV shows, music, and curated content for children. Passengers can access Vista Stream on Air India’s widebody and narrowbody aircraft (excluding the newly inducted Boeing 777 and Airbus A350) across both international and domestic routes. The service is compatible with various electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops running iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS. With Vista Stream, you can stay entertained throughout your flight.

3. An upgraded experience on single-aisle aircraft
You can now enjoy the Premium Economy experience on over eighty aircraft operating on domestic and international routes. This offers a dedicated, upscale cabin featuring extra legroom, enhanced meal options, priority ground services, and more. Air India has also refurbished twenty-seven of its legacy aircraft, with completion expected by mid-2025. This refurbishment includes new cabins, seats, upholstery, and carpets, as well as the addition of Premium Economy cabins on these aircraft.

4. Bespoke amenity kits
In collaboration with luxury brands like Ferragamo and TUMI, Air India presents meticulously designed amenity kits for the new elevated experience. Onboard the First Class Cabin, you will receive an indulgent Ferragamo skincare kit with an Eau de Parfum (EDP), body lotion, hand cream, and a lip balm along with comfort essentials including socks, an eye mask, and a Maharaja charm. If you are booked in Business Class, you will be presented with a similar Ferragamo selection sans the EDP, leaving you refreshed throughout your journey. Premium Economy passengers are offered kits featuring items like lip balm by the Swedish brand Verso, socks, and an eye mask. For First and Business Cabin customers, Velour carpet slippers and custom-designed loungewear are additional touches to ensure enhanced ease and luxury. The amenity kit and loungewear are on routes above eight hours and night flights above six hours, with Singapore as an exception.
