British Airways is celebrating 25 years of operating flights to and from London City Airport, which are run by its subsidiary, BA Cityflyer. To mark this occasion, BA Cityflyer is offering discounts of up to 25% on a variety of city break destinations.

Customers who book their trips before November 11, 2024, and travel before March 31, 2025, can enjoy the exquisite Italian cuisine in Florence starting at £57 each way. Flights are available from £77 each way for those interested in cycling around Amsterdam. To experience Berlin’s vibrant nightlife, you can book flights from £64 each way.

On 5 November 1999, British Airways’ Manchester-based franchise partner, British Regional Airlines, started a three-per-day weekday operation from Sheffield to London City. Since then, more than 27 million customers have flown on British Airways’ livery – including former subsidiary airlines such as BA Connect - to and from the capital’s most central airport.

BA Cityflyer began flying from London City in 2007 and has since flown to more than 50 destinations across Europe. Cities such as Frankfurt and Geneva have been some of the longest-serving routes. Edinburgh is the most flown-to destination, closely followed by Glasgow, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt. Today, BA Cityflyer is the largest airline flying from London City Airport and flies directly to 26 short-haul destinations – the furthest of which is Mykonos.

BA Cityflyer employs more than 500 colleagues today, including Tracy Gani, who flew to and from London City as a cabin crew with British Regional Airlines 25 years ago.
