Poland Strengthens Military Capabilities
As part of the Polish KRUK Attack Helicopter program, the Polish government has signed a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) for 96 combat helicopters, Boeing AH-64E Apaches.
“We are honoured the Government of Poland has placed their confidence in us,” said Vince Logsdon, Vice President of International Business Development for Boeing Defence, Space & Security. “The AH-64E Apache helicopters will strengthen Poland’s operational capability and interoperability with the U.S., NATO and allied nations. We look forward to delivering this unmatched capability.”
The LOA was announced one week after an offset agreement between Boeing and the Polish Ministry of National Defense. The deal includes training programs, the creation of a composite laboratory, and the Polish defence sector's maintenance and support of the Polish Armed Forces' fleet of Apache helicopters.
The offset projects seek to improve Poland's defence sector's sustainment capacities and yield substantial economic advantages by supporting the creation of highly qualified employment in the defence industry and facilitating technological advancements.
“Poland’s commitment to procure 96 aircraft represents the largest FMS order in the history of Boeing’s Vertical Lift division and will not only make Poland our 19th global Apache customer but the largest operator outside of the United States,” said Kathleen Jolivette, Vice President and General Manager, Vertical Lift.
Boeing has been producing the AH-64 Apache in Mesa, Arizona, for more than 40 years. The most recent version of the Apache, the AH-64E, offers an unrivalled combination of capability and versatility by fusing revolutionary technologies with a tried-and-true design. Over 1,290 Apaches are in service worldwide, offering maintenance and training assistance for Boeing Global Services. The Polish government chose the AH-64E Apache in September 2022 as the new attack helicopter fleet of the Polish Armed Forces.
