The TATA-owned Air India, which has recently been merged with Vistara, has become the first Indian airline to introduce the New Distribution Capability (NDC) to its services. NDC is a feature that aims to simplify the process of booking flight tickets. Air India has now adopted the newest 21.3 schema from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
New Distribution Capability
With the newly adopted technology, NDC, Air India will be able to provide its passengers with a better and easier experience whilst booking air travel. Air India will offer a personalised booking experience to travellers of all classes as the NDC uses an advanced XML-based standard. This will allow everyone to have access to more services like flight deals, discounts, add-ons, personalised packages etc. The technology will also allow passengers to now have access to real-time updates, better pricing, newest offers etc. The feature is now available at Air India's website.
