About the Website

The website, created by developer Pieter Levels, ranks airlines by the number of lost bags. It was after his girlfriend lost her luggage on the Spanish low-cost airline Vueling, which has yet to be returned. According to the website, Air India lost as many as 50,001 bags in the past month, which means that approximately one in every 36 passengers did not find their luggage upon arrival. Notably, when the website was launched on June 30, it was ranked 8th.

Levels expressed his frustration on social media, “I made this mistake because Vueling lost my girlfriend’s suitcase two weeks ago and still hasn’t returned it. Realizing if I had a site like this, I would never book Vueling in the first place as it is #8 worst in losing luggage right now!”

In addition to Air India, India has the most airlines on the luggage lost list. According to the report, airlines in India lost 1 in every 72 bags.
