Minor Hotels Signs Two Resorts in Thailand with Rasa Group
Minor Hotels Expands Thailand Portfolio with New Resort Signings
Minor Hotels has announced the signing of two resort properties in Thailand in partnership with Rasa Group: Colbert Collection Koh Samui and Avani Koh Phangan. The agreement introduces the Colbert Collection brand to Asia and adds to the group’s resort presence in the region.
On Koh Samui, Colbert Collection Koh Samui will be located on Chaweng Beach. The 32-key beachfront resort, currently operating as Buri Rasa Village Samui, will transition to Minor Hotels management on 1 May 2026. A rebrand is planned for the first quarter of 2027 following a renovation programme.
The resort is expected to offer a design-led stay shaped by its beachfront setting, with facilities including dining venues, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, and a spa. It is situated around 15 minutes from Samui International Airport and will join Minor Hotels’ existing properties on the island, including Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort, Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort, Avani Chaweng Samui Hotel & Beach Club, Avani+ Samui Resort and NH Collection Samui Peace Resort.
On Koh Phangan, the group has signed Avani Koh Phangan, a 63-key beachfront property on Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach. The resort currently operates as Buri Rasa Village Phangan and will also transition to Minor Hotels management on 1 May 2026, with a full rebrand to Avani scheduled for early 2027 following phased renovations.
Plans for the property include a mix of room categories, including pool-access and oceanfront options, alongside dining venues, a beachfront swimming pool, an AvaniKids club, and an AvaniFit gym. The resort is located next to Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas, further extending Minor Hotels’ footprint on the island.

Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Group CEO of Minor International, said the dual signing supports the group’s presence in southern Thailand across its lifestyle and soft brand segments.
Rapi Pinijchob, CEO of Rasa Group, noted that the partnership builds on an existing relationship between the two companies and reflects ongoing development activity in Koh Samui and Koh Phangan.
Both properties are owned by Rasa Group, a Thailand-based real estate and hospitality company with interests across commercial, residential and hospitality sectors. The group has previously collaborated with Minor Hotels on Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas.
The signing of Colbert Collection Koh Samui also marks the first step for Minor Hotels’ Colbert Collection brand in Asia. The brand brings together independent properties under a shared approach focused on cultural context, food and local identity. Its first property in London, The WestDill Mayfair Hotel London, Colbert Collection, is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026.
These agreements form part of Minor Hotels’ wider development approach, which includes expansion through management and franchise partnerships in resort destinations.
