Vietnam Airlines Pioneers Direct Route to Denmark

Vietnam Airlines Pioneers Direct Route to Denmark
The introduction of this route addresses the increasing demand for direct connectivity between the two regions.

Vietnam Airlines is set to launch its first direct flight connecting Vietnam and Denmark on December 15, 2025. This new route will enhance the airline’s international services and establish a direct link between Southeast Asia and Northern Europe. Passengers can anticipate a smooth and convenient travel experience. The demand for direct flights between these regions is on the rise, benefiting business travellers and the large Vietnamese community residing in Northern Europe. With this significant flight, Vietnam Airlines aims to simplify travel between Vietnam and Denmark.

This groundbreaking nonstop service will operate between Ho Chi Minh City and Copenhagen, marking a historic moment as the first direct flight linking the two countries. This initiative reflects Vietnam Airlines’ commitment to expanding its global network and strengthening ties between Southeast Asia and Northern Europe.

The new route will operate three times a week, using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to ensure a comfortable travel experience. Flights will depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 22:45 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Return services from Copenhagen will be scheduled for 10:50 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, offering convenient and flexible options for travellers on both sides.

Vietnam Airlines has launched a new route to cater to the growing demand for travel between the two regions. This service will benefit tourists, business travellers, and individuals visiting family, particularly the Vietnamese community in Northern Europe, where over 70,000 Vietnamese nationals reside in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.

Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, is widely considered one of the most desirable places to live in Europe. It serves as a major centre for culture, business, innovation, and tourism in the region. As Northern Europe’s primary air transit hub, Copenhagen plays a vital role in connecting travellers to neighbouring countries such as Sweden, Norway, and Finland. Additionally, it is the central hub for Scandinavian Airlines, part of the SkyTeam alliance, which provides passengers with convenient connections to the rest of Europe and beyond.

To celebrate the launch of this new route, Vietnam Airlines is offering special introductory round-trip fares from Copenhagen to Ho Chi Minh City. Passengers who book by August 31, 2025, can take advantage of fares starting at 5,803 DKK (approximately GBP 627), including taxes and fees.

For travel between December 16, 2025, and March 31, 2026, passengers booking by September 2025 can choose from affordable Economy Class tickets starting at 6,403 DKK or 832 EUR (about GBP 708). Business Class options are also available, starting from 22,134 DKK or 2,877 EUR (around GBP 2,451), all-inclusive of taxes and fees.

To make the inaugural flights more attractive, Vietnam Airlines is offering a 30% discount on optional services for the first three months of operation. This includes prepaid baggage, seat selection, and upgrades to higher service classes. Frequent flyers and Lotusmiles members will receive complimentary tier upgrades, free membership cards, and bonus miles, depending on their travel class.

In 2025, Vietnam Airlines plans to unveil and relaunch 15 international routes, focusing on major global markets such as Italy, Russia, China, the UAE, Japan, South Korea, and India. These strategic expansions aim to enhance Vietnam’s economic and tourism relations worldwide, establishing the country as a leading international destination. This ambitious network expansion is crucial to Vietnam’s objective of attracting 22 to 23 million international visitors by 2025, further solidifying the nation’s position on the global stage.
