It is on track to become India's first Green Destination. The official announcement and presentation of Mamallapuram's final award will take place after an audit in the coming months, making it the first World Heritage Site in the Asia Pacific region to achieve this milestone. This business focuses on sustainable tourism, prioritizing nature conservation and climate-friendly practices Green Destinations, a Council-accredited certification body based in The Netherlands, supports sustainable destinations, businesses, and communities. To date, 122 destinations worldwide have been awarded Green Destinations certification.
