Synergy Global Launches CarbonSMART: New Emissions Tool for Serviced Stays
Synergy Global Housing (Synergy) has launched CarbonSMART, a carbon emissions tracking and reporting tool designed explicitly for extended-stay and serviced accommodations.
CarbonSMART combines Synergy’s detailed 33-question Green Leaf sustainability assessment with industry data to deliver property-specific emissions reports. Integrated with Synergy’s SAPPHIRE technology platform, the tool allows clients to view emissions data, filter accommodation options by sustainability features, and track progress across regions and properties.
“As part of our focus on sustainability, CarbonSMART provides nightly carbon data, offering more transparency and helping travellers and companies make informed choices,” said Cara Lingle, Vice President, Global Supply Chain and Sales, Americas.
Key Features:
-
Carbon emissions per property, per night (mtCO2e or tCO2e)
-
Green Leaf sustainability ratings and CarbonSMART scores
-
Details on sustainability efforts at the property and provider level
-
Reporting by booking volume, spend, and region
-
Supplier benchmarking and performance tracking
“CarbonSMART bridges the gap between traveller choice and supplier transparency,” said Aaron Turner, Chief Technology Officer at Synergy.
“It helps clients track Scope 3 emissions from accommodation stays with more precision, and gives partners clear steps to improve sustainability.”
The tool supports Synergy’s broader environmental goals, including:
-
4% emissions reduction in 2024
-
Silver rating from EcoVadis, placing in the top 15% of over 130,000 companies
-
Net-zero emissions target by 2045
-
Integration of emissions data into program management reporting
CarbonSMART is the latest feature within Synergy’s SAPPHIRE platform, which simplifies extended stay accommodation management for corporate travel and mobility programs.
