Six Senses to Open Sustainable Hotel in Bangkok’s Silom District
Six Senses has signed a hotel management agreement with Narai Hospitality Group to open Six Senses Bangkok within the new Hatai mixed-use development, located on the historic site of the former Narai Hotel in Silom.
Originally opened in 1968, the Narai Hotel played a key role in developing Silom as a central business and social hub. The new project reimagines the site as a modern hospitality destination, blending cultural heritage with sustainable urban design.
Inspired by traditional lanterns, the Hatai development, designed by Heatherwick Studio, aims to become a symbol of renewal for the area. Six Senses Bangkok will feature approximately 100 rooms and suites, a rooftop pool, signature wellness spaces, and restaurants. Joyce Wang’s 700-square-meter signature suite and restaurant will crown the property, with interiors by BAR Studio.
The hotel is targeting LEED Gold and WELL Gold certifications, reflecting its commitment to sustainability and healthy design. Materials from the original Narai Hotel, including its wooden foundation, will be repurposed in the new interiors.
Guests can expect signature Six Senses experiences, including wellness treatments, biophilic design, healthy dining, and community engagement. The hotel will also offer easy access to Bangkok’s transportation systems and nearby cultural sites, such as the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple and the Chao Phraya River.
Scheduled to open in 2028, shortly after the 60th anniversary of the Narai Hotel, Six Senses Bangkok joins a growing portfolio of Six Senses properties in urban destinations and marks the brand’s return to its Thai roots.

Neil Palmer, Chief Operating Officer of Six Senses, commented:“It’s a privilege to honor the legacy of Narai Hotel in such a culturally significant and storied location. Together with Narai Hospitality Group, we’re creating something truly special, a place that respects its history while embracing signature wellness, crafted experiences, and sustainable design and operations, all defining characteristics of the Six Senses core ethos.”

Nathee Nithivasin, Chief Executive Officer of Narai Hospitality Group, added: “Six Senses was the ideal partner for Hatai because of our shared dedication to emotional hospitality, sustainable design, and being part of the local fabric. This development continues our longstanding care for the community and reinforces our commitment to building thoughtfully for future generations.”
