Sarovar Hotels has signed a deal to open Sarovar Portico Gwalior, a 100-key hotel developed in collaboration with Prime Land Estates Private Limited. This signing represents another significant milestone in its expansion strategy in Central India.

The Sarovar experience is characterized by a blend of warm, personalised hospitality and modern conveniences, ensuring that guests enjoy not just a stay, but a memorable experience.

The chain is owned by the Groupe du Louvre, a significant player in the hospitality sector that was acquired by Jinjiang International in 2015, underpinning its strong international presence. Jinjiang International itself is owned by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, highlighting a global network of ownership that enhances the Sarovar brand’s outreach.

Founded in 1994 by Anil Madhok, who had a rich background managing the luxury hotel brand Oberoi Hotels, Sarovar was established with a specific vision: to fill the gap in India’s mid-market hotel sector.
