Qatar Airways Makes Mark at FIFA Club World Cup
Qatar Airways has been the Official Airline Partner of FIFA since May 2017. Now, it is expanding its role in football by becoming the Official Airline Partner for the first FIFA Club World Cup in 2025. This partnership will bring together top-level football and great hospitality for fans in the U.S. and around the world.
The airline finds itself in a familiar position after achieving a historic “Sponsorship Treble.” Qatar Airways served as the Official Airline Partner of the UEFA Champions League and was also a sponsor for both finalists, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. Both teams will compete in the FIFA Club World Cup, where Qatar Airways will offer fans exclusive experiences during the tournament and will enjoy significant visibility in the tournament branding.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said: “The new agreement with FIFA underlines what we value most – teaming up with the pinnacle of sport to bring fans closer to the action. The presence of Qatar Airways at this ground-breaking tournament goes beyond branding, as we look to elevate the fan experience and connect them through our global network of more than 170 destinations, with 11 gateways in the United States. We are proud to be here, and play our role in uniting players, officials and fans through the power of football and global travel.”
FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, said: ‘We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with Qatar Airways as we embark on this exciting new chapter with the FIFA Club World Cup™ – a truly historic moment for world football. Their passion for excellence and their ability to connect people around the world make them the perfect partner for this incredible new tournament, which will bring together 32 of the world’s top clubs for a celebration unlike anything we’ve seen before. Truly, and for the first time, club football will unite the world – and Qatar Airways will be a key partner to the FIFA Club World Cup in making this happen.’
The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will be hosted at 12 venues across the United States. The tournament will kick off with the opening match on Saturday, June 14, in Miami. After a month of exciting matches, the championship final will take place in the New York/New Jersey area on Sunday, July 13.
The tournament aims to provide a truly global club football experience like never before. For fans who want to be part of the action, Qatar Airways offers flights to 11 cities in the United States, seven of which are host venues for the FIFA Club World Cup. These cities are Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Washington, Houston, New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, along with Chicago, Philadelphia, Seattle, and San Francisco.
Qatar Airways’ partnership with FIFA is part of its portfolio of high-profile global sports collaborations. These partnerships include organizations and teams such as UEFA, the AFC, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), FC Internazionale Milano, tennis legend Novak Djokovic, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Formula 1, MotoGP, the IRONMAN Triathlon Series, the United Rugby Championship (URC), and European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR).
