DGCA to Set Up Internal Working Groups for eVTOL Norms

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has announced the set up of internal working groups that will study various aspects related to electric air taxi operation and its needed regulations.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has announced the establishment of internal working groups that will study various aspects related to electric air taxi operations and the regulations needed.

Murlidhar Mohol, minister of State for Civil Aviation, talked of how the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has an Advanced Air Mobility Study Group to understand its workings, make the most of it, and deal with its potential impact on the aviation ecosystem. Mentioning all this, he said, “In tandem with that, DGCA has also constituted internal working groups for studying various aspects related to operation of eVTOL to assess and develop appropriate regulations/requirements suitable for India.”

The set-up groups will now study relevant regulations in other countries and civil aviation authorities and develop the appropriate action plan to maximize eVTOL operations in India.
