IHG & Singapore Airlines Support SMEs

IHG Hotels & Resorts and Singapore Airlines have launched a partnership aimed at improving business travel for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as they expand and innovate. This collaboration merges IHG’s Business Edge with SIA’s HighFlyer programmes, both tailored to meet the travel requirements of SMEs, which constitute 90 percent of businesses globally.

Starting 1 May 2025, qualifying SIA HighFlyer members who sign up for IHG Business Edge will receive a free Gold Elite upgrade within the IHG One Rewards program after their first qualifying stay. This upgrade provides access to a range of travel perks, such as guaranteed discounts, late check-out, flexible cancellation, and exclusive partner deals across IHG’s worldwide offerings.

Vivek Bhalla, Managing Director, South East Asia & Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said, “Working with globally renowned partners such as Singapore Airlines is an important part of continuously developing our offer and providing more value across a range of travel segments.

“These strategic partnerships enable us to reach a wider group of travellers, create differentiated experiences and ensure IHG and our brands stand out as the preferred choice. We are delighted to be working alongside Singapore Airlines to support the growing number of SMEs across the region to achieve their business goals and ambitions.”

IHG Business Edge, launched in 2018, aims to provide SMEs with a customized hotel booking solution. It features a comprehensive portal, flexible booking options, guaranteed discounts, and loyalty upgrades. Meanwhile, SIA’s HighFlyer program is a corporate travel rewards initiative offering preferential airfares to businesses and enabling them to earn HighFlyer points for employee travel. These points can be utilized for future travel cost offsets or redeemed for rewards. As businesses advance through the HighFlyer tiers, they receive increasingly valuable rewards, including bonus points, milestone benefits, and premium travel services like priority waitlists, standby, and upgrades. All these rewards are designed to enhance the corporate travel experience and maximize value with every flight.

This partnership announcement follows a 12-month collaboration between IHG and Virgin Australia. It showcases IHG’s dedication to improving its Business Edge program and offering travel solutions for SMEs.
