IHG Expands Holiday Inn Presence in Japan with Two New Conversions
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a new agreement with FET SYSTEM INC to rebrand two hotels in Japan as ANA Holiday Inn properties. This marks the debut of international branded hotels in Sanda and Tosu City.
The 130-room ANA Holiday Inn Kobe Sanda, currently The Celecton Premier Kobe Sanda Hotel, and the 126-room ANA Holiday Inn Tosu, now Hotel Bientos, will undergo renovations and rebrand in 2026. Both hotels will feature the Holiday Inn’s signature Open Lobby concept.
Abhijay Sandilya, Managing Director, Japan & Micronesia, IHG Hotels & Resorts and CEO of IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan, said:
“Our continued partnership with FET SYSTEM INC supports our growth in Japan, with the addition of two ANA Holiday Inn hotels. Alongside the upcoming ANA Holiday Inn Iwate Kitakami, these properties strengthen our presence in key regional cities. Demand for quick-to-market conversions remains steady, with conversions accounting for 60% of our global openings and 40% of organic signings in Q1 2025.”
Once rebranded, the hotels will join IHG’s portfolio of 15 open and pipeline Holiday Inn properties in Japan. Globally, the Holiday Inn brand includes 1,241 open hotels and 273 in the pipeline.
Hiroshi Nakamura, President & CEO, FET SYSTEM INC., said:
“We are pleased to extend our collaboration with IHG Hotels & Resorts and introduce the Holiday Inn brand to Sanda and Tosu. These locations are well-suited for the brand, and we look forward to welcoming guests after the renovations.”
Located 40km north of Kobe City, ANA Holiday Inn Kobe Sanda offers views of the surrounding landscape, popular for outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, and golf. The hotel will serve corporate and leisure guests with its meeting and event space.
ANA Holiday Inn Tosu, situated 30km from Fukuoka City in Saga Prefecture, is positioned to attract corporate demand from the region’s manufacturing sector. The hotel is near Tosu Station and local amenities.
IHG operates 54 hotels across 10 brands in Japan, with 17 more in the pipeline, as it continues to expand across the country.
