Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, recently announced its debut in Wayanad with the opening of Taj Wayanad Resort & Spa, Kerala. Nestled at the edge of a hill, with sweeping views of the surrounding forest and lake, the resort seamlessly weaves together luxury with nature and mindfulness at every corner. Located at driving distance from Kozhikode, Kannur and Bengaluru, the 10-acre resort features 61 rooms and villas, each paying ode to the beauty of the surrounding environ. The resort offers 270 degrees views of the Banasura Hills and lake, where guests can experience the tranquil beauty of the destination with a touch of wellness at the award-winning Jiva Spa offering signature Ayurvedic therapies. From enjoying favourites at the iconic all-day diner, Shamiana; to indulging in South Indian specialities at Southern Spice; languid evenings at Tropics – the poolside grill and bar and world class cocktails at a maritime themed bar; guests can choose from myriad dining experiences during their stay. IHCL Strenghtens its Presence in Goa

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, recently announced the signing of a SeleQtions hotel in Anjuna, Goa. The hotel is a franchise with Guild Hotels Pvt Limited.

Commenting on the signing, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President - Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said, “In line with our strategy of consolidating presence in key lodging markets, IHCL signs its second SeleQtions branded hotel in Goa, one of the best performing markets in India. We are delighted to partner with Guild Hotels Pvt Ltd. for this hotel.” The 150-year-old Portuguese styled heritage building is being transformed into a hotel. The 49-room hotel is located in Anjuna, a laid back coastal village on the Arabian Sea. The hotel is a short distance away from the beach as well as popular tourist spots, and will house a specialty restaurant. It is slated to open in April 2023. This will be operated by AM Hotel Kollection under the SeleQtions brand.



 
 
Loya Debuts at Taj Palace

 
 

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, announced the launch of its new Indian-concept restaurant brand, Loya. Debuting at Taj Palace, New Delhi, Loya captures the culinary essence traversing the landscape of North India.

Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO, IHCL, said, “IHCL, with its rich culinary history for over a century, has always been renowned for pioneering global and regional cuisines and concepts. With the addition of Loya, IHCL strengthens its food and beverage portfolio of over 400 restaurants and bars. As the first Loya launches in the food capital of the country, the brand will soon travel to Mumbai, Bengaluru and other cities in India and overseas.”

Loya takes diners on a journey through the vivid landscape of the North, from the foothills of the Himalayas to the terrains of Punjab, the snow-capped peaks of Kashmir and beyond. The menu revives lost culinary traditions of cherished and long-preserved authentic recipes made with heirloom ingredients. The spotlight is on the inherent uniqueness and time-honoured cooking techniques of dungaar, the art of smoking and slow-cooking; aromatics of “baghar”, spices tempered in hot oil; and sigdi, cooking over an open fire; and the practice of pounding masalas with a sil-batta, pestle and mortar. The bar menu, Loya Paanch, inspired by the number five and its significance across India, focuses on indigenous beverages and the North’s botanical abundance with a contemporary twist on local spirits.

Loya offers the warmth and comfort of the past intersecting with the energy of today.

Sawai Man Mahal Unveiled

 
 

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company recently announced the opening of Sawai Man Mahal in Jaipur. The heritage palace set in the environs of the majestic Rambagh Palace, pays tribute to Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II, the last ruler of the princely state of Jaipur.

Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL said, “We are delighted with the addition of Sawai Man Mahal to IHCL’s magnificent collection of royal palaces. IHCL is proud to have showcased India’s glorious past with some of the country’s most celebrated palaces that date back to the pre-independence era. This also marks a significant milestone of completing fifty years of managing the legendary “Jewel of Jaipur”, the Rambagh Palace. We remain grateful to Maharaj Jai Singh and Maharaj Vijit Singh for having reposed their trust in us and look forward to continuing this association to enhance the region’s tremendous tourism potential.”

Sawai Man Mahal is inspired by the rich Rajputana heritage. Each of the aesthetically designed and spacious fifty one rooms open into private courtyards laced with greenery. The palace’s façade is an ode to Amber Fort and also showcases the 187-year-old Golden Gate, Rambagh Palace’s original gold gilded entrance in the lobby. Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II served as the first ambassador to Spain and the influence is reflected in La Mesa; the Spanish themed all-day-diner and La Terraza an elegant al-fresco dining choice.
