Wyndham’s New Campaign Offers Tongue-in-Cheek Take on Holiday Travel

Wyndham’s holiday campaign will launch with a comprehensive omnichannel strategy that will run through the end of the year.

 Wyndham's Witty Vacation Campaign

This holiday season, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has a public service announcement for travellers from coast to coast: Stay close to your loved ones without actually staying with them. This message is part of the company’s humorous new ad campaign titled “Stay Close,” which is now live across social media, digital platforms, email, and the brand’s website in the U.S. and Canada.

In collaboration with Havas New York and produced by Annex 88, "Stay Close" offers a humorous take on the universal experiences of travel, while highlighting the common challenges of family holiday gatherings. From dodging "Aunt-Perazzi," the aspiring midlife influencer, to fending off Cousin Carl’s constant investment pitches, or simply avoiding that dreaded pull-out couch, staying at a Hotel by Wyndham allows you to connect with family while knowing you can retreat to a personal sanctuary each night.

“The holidays can be a magical time with family and friends, but let’s face it, a little personal space and a real bed go a long way. No matter where your travels may take you across the U.S. this holiday season, chances are there’s a Hotel by Wyndham just 10 minutes away.

Wyndham’s holiday campaign will launch with a comprehensive omnichannel strategy that will run through the end of the year. It will feature 6- and 15-second ads on digital video and connected TV on YouTube, along with social media and email, reaching travelers with the all-too-relatable moments of holiday travel.

Holiday travellers have the option to enjoy a comfortable hotel stay instead of sleeping on Grandma’s pullout couch or can choose to stay nearby for extra comfort while visiting family. From now until January 20, 2025, those who stay two nights can earn 7,500 bonus Wyndham Rewards points, which is enough for a free night at thousands of Hotels by Wyndham. The nights do not need to be consecutive, and Wyndham Rewards members can take advantage of this promotion twice, for a total of 15,000 bonus points.
