Potato Head Bali Goes Green
As part of its ambitious plan to build a sustainable, waste-free future for Bali and beyond, Potato Head Bali has unveiled The Community Waste Project. Desa Potato Head has been working diligently for years to reach 97.5% zero waste, and now it is stepping up its efforts with a community-driven project.
Local companies band together at the Community Garbage Project, a cooperative facility, to recycle and turn garbage into valuable resources. The intention is to empower the Bali community by developing a closed-loop circular system that turns waste materials into useful items, furnishings, and artwork.
A 2,000-square-meter wasteland was transformed into a sustainable processing centre by the hotel in collaboration with nearby companies such as Kynd, Mexicola Group, Finns, and others. Everyone is welcome to participate in the initiative and gain personal knowledge about circular waste systems, including communities, businesses, and individuals.
By taking part, visitors are contributing to creating a more regenerative Bali and recycling rubbish. Every penny this project raises will be reinvested in the neighbourhood, supporting the expansion of more waste management facilities throughout the island.
