Marriott and VERKEHRSBUERO Partnership in Austria

Marriott International, Inc. announced a partnership with VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY to open five hotels in Austria under its Tribute Portfolio, AC Hotels, and Four Points Flex by Sheraton brands. These projects aim to expand Marriott‘s presence in the country by adding over 1,100 rooms. All five hotels will transition from existing properties currently managed by VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY as part of its Austria Trend Hotels brand.

VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY is making a strategic advancement in Austria's hospitality sector by transforming its five Austria Trend Hotels. This was formalized during a signing ceremony attended by Anthony Capuano, President and Chief Executive Officer of Marriott International, and Martin Winkler, CEO of VERKEHRSBUERO. The multi-deal agreement with Marriott aligns with the company’s objective to diversify its portfolio and promote sustainable growth, all while creating memorable experiences for its guests.

Four Points Flex by Sheraton, a midscale brand of Marriott, is set to debut in Austria with four locations. By the third quarter of 2025, Austria Trend Hotel beim Theresianum will be rebranded as Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Hauptbahnhof, while Austria Trend Hotel Salzburg Messe will become Four Points Flex by Sheraton Salzburg Messe. In 2026, Austria Trend Hotel Anatol is also expected to transition to Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Mariahilf. Moreover, after extensive renovations, Austria Trend Hotel Ananas will transform into a dual-branded establishment, including both Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Naschmarkt and AC Hotel by Marriott Vienna Naschmarkt.
Under the multi-deal agreement, the historic Parkhotel Schönbrunn is set to become part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, a global collection of hotels celebrated for their charm, service, and design. Situated near Schönbrunn Palace, this iconic hotel combines Viennese elegance with high-end comfort.
Currently, Marriott operates 21 properties with nearly 4,000 rooms in Austria. The country hosts 14 of the company’s brands, each offering unique experiences tailored to various traveller segments and travel purposes. These brands consist of The Ritz-Carlton, The Luxury Collection, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton, Le Méridien, Renaissance Hotels, Autograph Collection, Tribute Portfolio, Design Hotels, Residence Inn by Marriott, AC Hotels by Marriott, Moxy Hotels, Courtyard by Marriott, and Four Points by Sheraton.
