"As the capital city of the Amazonas, Manaus serves as the gateway for both local and international travellers to experience the natural beauty of one of the world’s most stunning biomes: the Amazon rainforest. The city attracts tourists from around the globe, and we are confident that it will be a great success among our over 210 million Marriott Bonvoy members and significantly contribute to the city's tourism development," said Michael Leon, Senior Director of Development for Marriott International in the Caribbean and Latin America.

"Tribute Portfolio, as part of Marriott Bonvoy's collection of over 30 leading global hotel brands, consists of unique, independent hotels united by their dedication to distinctive design and commitment to fostering lively social atmospheres for both guests and locals. We believe this property will seamlessly complement the portfolio."

The current property will maintain some of its original architecture to reflect the essence and authenticity of the Tribute Portfolio brand. It was first opened in March 1976, and the iconic colonial-style hotel was celebrated as a global destination, drawing in prominent celebrities and influential figures of its era.
