Marriott Brings Joy with China Smiles Initiative

Marriott Hotels recently launched the “Wonderful Hospitality for Your Heartfelt Smile” brand campaign in Greater China. The campaign features five engaging videos starring popular Chinese comedians Yan Peilun, Zhang Youwei, Liu Yang, and Zhu Meiji, who highlight Marriott’s signature hospitality through humour and laughter. These five videos capture everyday moments at Marriott Hotels, showcasing front office associates anticipating guest needs and exceptional dining experiences created with passion and care.

As part of the campaign, Marriott Hotels will collaborate with the comedians to host a series of live comedy shows at select properties across Xiamen, Shenzhen, and Beijing from January 20 through the end of March 2025. The shows will blend comedy and entertainment into the vibrant settings of Marriott Hotels, bringing to life its brand promise of “Wonderful Hospitality. Always,” which delivers heartfelt service and an extraordinary travel experience like no other.

“Today’s travellers seek greater personal connections with their destinations. With creative cross-industry collaborations, we will offer more enriching guest experiences that enhance our promise of ‘Wonderful Hospitality. Always.’”

The launch of the campaign marks the official start of Marriott Hotels’ “Wonderful Hospitality” brand program, which will be implemented in 71 properties across Greater China. The “Wonderful Hospitality” initiative emphasizes small yet meaningful actions—whether spontaneous or carefully planned—that foster unique and lasting human connections. At Marriott Hotels, these Wonderful Gestures can take place from check-in to check-out. Thoughtful acts, such as an unexpected treat, a personalized gift for a child, or simply lending a helping hand, often evoke smiles and create an atmosphere of genuine warmth and welcome.
