Willemijn Geels, vice president, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, commented: “Our world-renowned InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand has been pioneering luxury travel for more than 75 years, and it’s great to bring it back to Serbia, a country that has enjoyed a surge in tourism in recent years. Its reputation as a business and investment powerhouse, together with its rich artistic heritage, fascinating history dating back over 7,000 years, and exquisite cuisine, makes it the ideal destination for locals and international visitors alike. InterContinental Belgrade is our fourth property with long-standing partners Delta Holdings, following Crowne Plaza Belgrade and Hotel Indigo Belgrade in Serbia, and InterContinental Ljubljana in Slovenia. We look forward to continuing to grow our partnership and, together, welcoming even more guests to the region.”

Andrej Sovrović, member of the Executive Board of the Delta Holding Company and cluster general manager, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “We are looking to create unique places for locals and travellers to enjoy in Belgrade, which is why we are excited that InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, the world’s first and largest international luxury hotel brand, will be part of our exciting new development in the city. Following the successful opening of InterContinental Ljubljana in Slovenia, we instinctively knew it was the ideal brand for our project. We look forward to growing our relationship with IHG and, together, adding InterContinental Belgrade to the brand’s trailblazing portfolio as a market-leading new build in the region when we open our doors.”
