IHG Hotels & Resorts and Strategic Alliance have announced a partnership to establish the world's first luxury hotel brand in one of Australia's most renowned wine regions, the signing of InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa.

Scheduled to open in 2028, pending planning approval, this will be the first luxury branded hotel in a South Australian wine region. The 150-room property will be nestled among the rolling hills and vineyards of Barossa. Each guest room will offer a view of the landscape, with some featuring balconies that overlook the vineyard and cellar door.
