InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk Opens Doors to Guests

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, a part of IHG Hotels & Resorts' luxury and lifestyle portfolio, has announced the opening of the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk. The 390-room hotel features over 18,000 square feet of meeting space, four new restaurants and bars, and Les Clefs d'Or concierge service.

The 21-storey hotel is located one mile from the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and steps away from the city's famed River Walk. It is within walking distance of many of the city's attractions, including The Alamo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Pearl, and La Villita Historic Village. The hotel also provides guests with direct access to a water taxi landing zone, offering them an alternative mode of transportation along the tranquil waterways.

Owned by Trailbreak Partners in conjunction with Scarlett Hotel Group, the hotel features a rooftop pool, 24-hour in-room dining, on-site valet, a house car, a 24-hour fitness centre, and a Club InterContinental Lounge, among other high-end amenities.

The 18,000 square feet of event space, including the 8,200-square-foot Pecan Ballroom, are directly accessible via the valet area. Additionally, the hotel offers conference areas, a boardroom, and ten meeting rooms, all featuring built-in food and beverage stations and views of San Antonio.

Designed by Leo A. Daly, the hotel's aesthetic blends mid-century architecture and modern finishes with San Antonio's organic textures and materials. The property's neutral colour palette is offset by pops of colour in the velvet furniture. A contemporary Joan Crawford's work complements the arrivals desk, and the gallery showcases local products, artisans, and activities, adding a special touch to the hotel's décor and connecting guests to the city.

The hotel boasts four restaurant and bar concepts led by Executive Chef Andres Farias. The culinary offerings include Cavalier, a ground-floor American-style brasserie; Deco Bar, a lobby bar; Rosebelly Coffee; and High Praise, a rooftop bar and restaurant opening later this month.

To celebrate the occasion, the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk offers a special limited-time offer until December 30, 2024, including complimentary parking and a $50 food and beverage credit per night.

The grand opening of the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts' robust 2024 development pipeline in Texas, which includes 15 new properties across eight brands. The hotel located at 111 E. Pecan Street, has started accepting stay reservations from August 1, 2024.
