Hyatt Hotels Corporation, along with the Scalesciani family, owners of Palacio Duhau - Park Hyatt Buenos Aires, and the David family, local entrepreneurs from Mendoza, have announced plans for Casa Duhau, a luxury hotel featuring 52 villas and suites in Mendoza. As the only hotel in The Unbound Collection by Hyatt in Argentina, Casa Duhau will be part of Reserva Alto Agrelo, a new development project that spans nearly 1,000 acres. This project will also include a premium winery and 116 residential lots for sale. Construction of the hotel is expected to begin by the end of 2025, with an anticipated opening date in late 2027.
Casa Duhau, part of Hyatt's Luxury Portfolio, is set to be located in Alto Agrelo, Mendoza, one of the world’s premier wine regions. It will be approximately 30 minutes from the city of Mendoza and 35 minutes from El Plumerillo International Airport. The property, inspired by nearly 100 acres of surrounding vineyards and fruit trees, will feature Reserva Alto Agrelo, which includes Bodega Agrelia—a premium boutique winery developed with the expertise of renowned winemakers Michel Rolland and Marcelo Pelleriti. Additionally, there will be Casa David – Wine & Horses, an equestrian club equipped with a comprehensive facility that includes a veterinary clinic, a training centre for horses, a 24-box stable, a laboratory, and more.

The hotel will feature 40 villas scattered throughout the property to provide guests with complete privacy and views of the Andes Mountains. Additionally, there are 12 suites located in the main building. Guests can look forward to two signature restaurants, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, a spa, meeting rooms, a lagoon, wellness experiences, and various programming options.
Casa Duhau offers beautiful gardens, terraces, and an event hall, creating the perfect backdrop for a range of events. It also includes a chapel for weddings, facilitating a seamless transition to an extraordinary celebration in one of its thoughtfully designed venues.
"Our passion for hospitality and our experience in this segment has led us to take a new step in a destination that we consider unique, Mendoza. With its imposing landscape of mountains and world-renowned vineyards, we found the perfect opportunity to create a space where luxury, wellbeing, and warmth merge into unforgettable experiences,” said Juan Francisco Scalesciani.
“We’re excited to further our relationship with Hyatt and offer a new type of product to travelers around the world in an incomparable natural environment.”
The other key component of the master development project is the Reserva Alto Agrelo residential lots. This gated real estate development will occupy nearly 190 acres of land and is designed to accommodate 116 future residential units. The plans for the residential community include a private entrance, pedestrian pathways, two lagoons, and landscaped green spaces.
"Reserva Alto Agrelo will be a five-star real estate concept unlike any other experience in Argentina and the region. This project represents a new and highly anticipated destination in Mendoza. This milestone project is the result of commitment, values and shared visions of our business families, and expresses our full confidence in the potential of Mendoza to contribute to the development of the country and its international positioning," said Rubén David.
The wine club of Agrelia, associated with the boutique winery Reserva Alto Agrelo, plans to offer a membership that includes an annual shipment of 72 exclusive bottles of premium wine. These bottles will feature personalized labels and be carefully selected by renowned winemakers Michel Rolland and Marcelo Pelleriti. Additionally, the equestrian club Casa David—Wine & Horses will provide access to both residents and guests.
The architectural design of Casa Duhau will be led by BMA ARQS, an international firm with offices in Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, and Miami. The interior design will be managed by Martín Zanotti Studio, while landscape design will be handled by Fernando González. The entire development of Reserva Alto Agrelo will be executed by Terrandes SAS in partnership with BDA Realty, represented by Marcelo Cusmai and Richie Fernandez, who will provide representation and commercial consulting for the residential lots of Reserva Alto Agrelo.
Casa Duhau will enhance Hyatt’s Luxury Portfolio in Argentina by joining Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires, which was recently named the #1 Hotel in South America in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards 2024, and Park Hyatt Mendoza, a 5-star luxury hotel located in the centre of Mendoza.
