Costa Rica Welcomes Hyatt Centric San José Escazú

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened Hyatt Centric San José Escazū, the first Hyatt Centric branded hotel in Costa Rica. Located in the Escazú neighbourhood of Costa Rica's capital city, this full-service lifestyle hotel with 161 rooms and suites provides easy access to boutique shopping, eating, and corporate offices at Plaza Tempo Shopping & Business Center. The hotel's strategic location allows discerning travellers to quickly discover San José's city centre, the National Stadium of Costa Rica, and natural areas such as La Paz Waterfall Gardens, Poas Volcano National Park, and Costa Rica's famous beaches, rainforests, and mountain adventures.

Pura Vida translates to "pure life," the Costa Rican motto for appreciating everything life offers. It also served as the inspiration for the design of the Hyatt Centric San José Escazú. A sensory journey from the Cerros de Escazú (hills of Escazú) to the city's urban epicentre is reflected in the new hotel's contemporary décor and artwork. Local Costa Rican artists collaborated with Artflow Gallery to create artwork that incorporates cultural sculptures and the conceptualization of glass found in the hotel's common areas, as well as the history and identity of the region.

Shades of orange, blue, copper, and green inspired by the sunrise over the mountains, the textures of the summits, and the contrasting views of the forest and city lights below are used in guestrooms and suites to highlight the Costa Rican landscape's colours. Guestrooms feature artwork, including watercolour canvases, ceramic wall décor, and tiny ceramic bathroom accessories. With their innovative and small designs, all guestrooms have lounging areas, amenities, free Wi-Fi and minifridges, bathrobes and Drybar hair dryers. Numerous guestrooms provide views of the mountains and city.

At two dining establishments with constantly changing menus that capture the spirit of the place, Hyatt Centric San José Escazú offers visitors a sample of regional flavours and handcrafted beverages. The ground floor restaurant, Cense Restaurant, serves a combination of foreign favourites and Costa Rican specialities prepared with locally sourced ingredients and open for all-day eating. Cense Restaurant's outside terrace offers a private, intimate dining option for up to 12 people and an alfresco eating experience. To capture the spirit of stability and interconnectedness, self-taught textile artists Carla Lesano and Violeta Morice hand weave square knot rope motifs into a vast tapestry that spans the surrounding mountain scenery at Cense Restaurant. During the day, 19-49 Lounge Bar & Café offers freshly brewed Costa Rican coffee and light snacks. At night, they serve tapas, burgers, and small meals to go with their speciality cocktails made with unusual local ingredients.

The Hyatt Centric San José Escazú's central location and spaces make it the perfect place for any gathering, from unique festivities to business meetings. With over 6,000 square feet of event space, the skilled events staff handles everything, including in-house catering, free Wi-Fi, and technology.
