Accor optimizes its European portfolio

Accor continues to optimize its European portfolio across the premium, mid-range, and economy segments with numerous renovation projects. In 2023, Accor unveiled its comprehensive strategy to rejuvenate and modernize its brands. This strategy is designed to ensure guests continue to experience a consistent standard of quality across the region's entire hotel network. To date, more than 70 hotels have been renovated, and another 60 projects are planned or underway. These figures also demonstrate the commitment of our hotel partners, who are making a significant contribution to the successful implementation of the strategy.

Among the numerous hotel renovations in the region, some of the most striking projects include:

  • Mercure Wien City (Austria)  –  Located in Vienna's vibrant second district, the hotel invites guests to comfortably visit the city's top attractions, including St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Hofburg Imperial Palace, and the State Opera. Following a comprehensive modernization of the 123 guest rooms and common hotel areas, including the reception, lounge, and bar, the interior is inspired by the famous Wiener Werkstätte and combines the refined elegance of Viennese Art Nouveau with modern amenities.
  • Novotel Warsaw Centrum (Poland)  – To mark its 50th anniversary, the hotel recently underwent a comprehensive renovation of its 364 guest rooms, conference room, restaurant, and meeting spaces. The 18-month modernization project was led by the renowned Sundukovy Sisters Design & Architecture Studio, which placed a strong emphasis on sustainable materials and advanced energy systems. Located in the heart of the Polish capital, the Novotel Warsaw Centrum is the perfect base for exploring the city center and many of its attractions.
  • Mercure Bologna Centro (Italy)  – This centrally located hotel is just a stone's throw from Bologna's historic center. Completely renovated, it features 244 modern rooms, three versatile meeting and event rooms, and even a private garden. The hotel also offers an excellent restaurant with panoramic views of the nearby park and the "Binomio" lounge bar.
  • Mercure Napoli Centro Angioino (Italy)  – Located right in the historic center of Naples, close to the harbor and offering panoramic views of the majestic Maschio Angioino and the Mediterranean Sea, the hotel's renovations included a redesign of the lobby, 99 guest rooms, the fitness center, and the hotel's cocktail bar.
  • ibis Styles Barcelona Sant Joan Despi (Spain)  – Following a rebranding and complete renovation, the hotel has been completely redesigned as a tribute to Catalan modernism, clearly highlighting the ibis Styles brand's core philosophy of creating inspiring and original spaces. The public areas, inspired by Casa Lana, are multifunctional and sustainable. In addition, there are 161 rooms spread across seven floors, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a co-working space, and other amenities.
  • ibis London Blackfriars (United Kingdom)  – With some of London's most famous landmarks on its doorstep, the hotel offers 297 fully refurbished guest rooms equipped with the latest technology, thoughtful features, and versatile, sustainable furnishings. The rooms are not only cleverly designed to combine function and comfort, but also meet Green Key environmental standards.
  • ibis Bayeux Port-en-Bessin (France)  – This hotel enjoys a prime location near the famous D-Day landing beaches, close to Bayeux and its medieval streets, cathedral, and the "Bayeux Tapestry." Recently remodeled, the hotel's design celebrates the charm of the fishing village of Port-en-Bessin. In addition to new public areas with a breakfast restaurant and bar, the ibis Bayeux Port-en-Bessin also offers bicycle storage and a bicycle repair station, making it a convenient stopover for bikers.
  • Mercure Angoulême - Hôtel de France (France  – Located in a historic building, the hotel celebrates its deep local roots with themed guest rooms, modern design elements, and a welcoming atmosphere. For a relaxing stay, the hotel, which successfully completed its renovation earlier this year, invites you to enjoy fine food and wine at the "Bistro Bardy."
  • Pullman Riga Old Town (Latvia)  –  Housed in a magnificent building dating back to 1789, the Pullman Riga Old Town is undergoing a comprehensive renovation, expected to be completed by summer 2025. The redesigned areas include the lobby, restaurant and bar, as well as the premium hotel's wellness and fitness facilities. The hotel's six meeting rooms and 154 guest rooms and suites will also be modernized. Tremend Design Studio is responsible for the extensive redesign, integrating natural elements into a modern aesthetic, creating an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and inviting.
