Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Opens First Property in Japan with Fairmont Tokyo

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, part of Accor, has officially opened its first hotel in Japan—Fairmont Tokyo—on July 1, 2025. The opening was marked by a ribbon-tying ceremony, celebrating the brand’s entry into the Japanese hospitality market.
Located in the newly developed BLUE FRONT SHIBAURA Tower South, Fairmont Tokyo spans floors 35 to 43 and offers 217 rooms, including 29 suites. The hotel is easily accessible—13 minutes from Haneda Airport and six minutes from both Tokyo and Shinagawa Stations. Guests can explore nearby landmarks, such as Zojoji Temple, while enjoying the calm atmosphere of the Shibaura district.

The first-floor lobby welcomes guests with Serene, the hotel’s Labrador Retriever and Chief Happiness Officer. The main lobby on the 35th floor opens to terraces with views of Tokyo Bay and the city skyline.

Fairmont Tokyo features seven food and beverage outlets offering a range of local and international cuisines. Highlights include:
-
Kiln & Tonic for seafood, wood-fired pizza, and Tokyo Tower views
-
Vue Mer for French-Japanese cafe-style dishes
-
Migiwa and Totsuji for sushi and teppanyaki with a modern approach
-
DRIFTWOOD for Yoshoku-style dining
-
Yoi to Yoi for casual Japanese street food
-
OFF RECORD, a speakeasy-style bar inspired by Tokyo’s vinyl lounge culture
The hotel’s 35th-floor wellness centre features a spa offering original treatments made with local products, a 24-hour gym equipped with Technogym equipment, an indoor infinity pool, saunas, and a sun deck offering views of Tokyo Tower.
The interiors, designed by BAR Studio, blend contemporary design with references to Japanese traditions such as Kintsugi and weaving. Each guest room features floor-to-ceiling windows and interiors that incorporate the Engawa, a transitional space connecting indoors and outdoors.
Fairmont Gold offers an elevated stay with personalized services, including private check-in, access to a dedicated lounge, and curated experiences.

Fairmont Tokyo also includes a range of event spaces, including:
-
A Grand Ballroom
-
THE SEA and THE SKY event venues on the 43rd floor
-
Outdoor terraces and flexible meeting rooms
