Emirates Adds Premium Economy Service on Kolkata Route from July 18
Emirates will introduce its Premium Economy class on flights to and from Kolkata starting 18 July 2025, expanding the service after its launch in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad. This addition provides travellers with more options when flying between Dubai and Kolkata.
Premium Economy seats can now be booked on flight EK573, which will operate four times a week—on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays—departing Kolkata at 20:45 and reaching Dubai at 00:05. The return flight, EK572, leaves Dubai at 13:05 and arrives in Kolkata at 19:15. Tickets are available on emirates.com, the Emirates App, Emirates retail outlets, contact centres, and through travel agents.
Mohammad Sarhan, Emirates’ Vice President for India and Nepal, said, “We are pleased to bring Premium Economy to Kolkata following strong demand in other Indian cities. This service offers travellers more comfort and flexibility.”
The Premium Economy cabin features wider leather seats, more legroom, adjustable headrests, deeper recline, and cushioned leg rests. It also offers additional privacy and comfort compared to Economy Class.
Dining options include regional meals served on fine china with stainless steel cutlery, along with a selection of wines and beverages. Each seat features a 13.3-inch HD screen, offering entertainment options through Emirates’ ice system, Bluetooth headphone pairing, and enhanced Wi-Fi on select aircraft.
Passengers in Premium Economy get a 35kg checked baggage allowance and up to 10kg for carry-on bags.
The Premium Economy cabin on Emirates’ latest Boeing 777 aircraft offers 24 seats and is available on more aircraft across its fleet. Emirates currently operates 11 weekly flights between Kolkata and Dubai, with Premium Economy offered on four flights per week (EK572/573) in addition to daily flights on EK570/571.
