The flag carrier arrived in the Garden City of Lights this week, marking its first visit in five years. The plane took off from London Heathrow at 21:10 on April 1 and touched down at Kuala Lumpur International Airport the next day at 17:20 local time. Passengers on the inaugural flight were welcomed with goodie bags and special gifts upon their arrival.

British Airways will provide daily flights from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur using its Boeing 787-900 fleet. Passengers can choose from four cabin options: World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy), Club World (business class), and First (first class), with return fares starting at £574.

The airline has also broadened its codeshare partnership with Malaysia Airlines, providing customers with additional travel choices and smooth onward connections to over 17 routes from Kuala Lumpur. This expansion includes key destinations that can be booked on a single ticket, such as Australia, New Zealand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

This flight resumption underpins British Airways’ continued investment in the Asia Pacific, expanding travel options between the UK and Malaysia while strengthening business, tourism and cultural ties. The airline also recently resumed flights from London Gatwick to Bangkok as well as broadened its codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways, enabling seamless connections from Bangkok to the six popular holiday destinations of Koh Samui, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Krabi, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

Situated at the intersection of Europe and Asia, Georgia boasts a rich history, lively culture, traditional cuisine, and scenic landscapes. The country takes pride in its claim as the birthplace of wine, with an 8,000-year legacy of winemaking that continues to play a vital role in its culture today.

As part of its short-haul network, customers flying to Tbilisi can choose between two cabins: Club Europe (business class) and Euro Traveller (economy), with return fares starting at £244. Euro Traveller passengers receive a complimentary drink and snack, while Club Europe travelers benefit from lounge access, a complete meal service, priority boarding, and an increased baggage allowance included in their ticket.

Elsewhere across its network

British Airways is set to double its service from London Heathrow (LHR) to Tokyo Haneda (HND) to twice a day, starting 30 March 2025. This move marks a notable boost in capacity and connectivity between the UK and Japan, just in time for the summer season. The airline will run 14 weekly flights to Tokyo, featuring daily operations on its A350 fleet. This eco-friendly aircraft boasts a three-class layout, including World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy), and Club World (business class). Moreover, it is equipped with British Airways’ latest business class seat, the Club Suite, designed to ensure maximum comfort and privacy at 35,000 feet.

Next month, the airline will introduce three new routes to Italy, including Rimini on the Adriatic Coast from London Heathrow starting on 15 May, and Salerno on the Amalfi Coast from London Gatwick on 22 May. Additionally, a new service from London City to Olbia will begin on 25 May, enhancing the current flights from Heathrow. With these new additions, the total number of Italian destinations served by the flag carrier will rise to 19, surpassing the total for any other European country within the airline’s network.

The airline has expanded its flights to Riyadh, enhancing travel and trade links between the UK and Saudi Arabia. Customers can now enjoy nearly double the flight options, adding over 80,000 seats compared to last year. These newly added flights will run almost daily (except Tuesdays), carefully scheduled to provide travelers with greater flexibility for onward connections within British Airways’ vast global network from London Heathrow to over 200 destinations.
