Zélia Halkidiki: Hyatt’s Greek Getaway
Hyatt Hotels Corporation recently celebrated the opening of Zélia Halkidiki, an adults-only resort designed to offer guests an authentic and elevated Greek experience. This property is the first in Greece to be branded as a Destination by Hyatt, marking a significant step in the brand’s expansion in one of Europe’s most sought-after travel destinations.
Zélia Halkidiki is situated in the northern region of Greece, renowned for its waters, pine-fringed beaches, and relaxed atmosphere. This resort is ideal for guests looking to slow down and unwind. It is nestled on a tranquil hillside surrounded by olive groves and is conveniently located near several local attractions. These include Nea Moudania, a coastal destination famous for its fresh seafood and beautiful beaches, and Afytos Village, a charming seaside village known for its traditional stone houses, cobblestone streets, and panoramic views of the Toroneos Gulf.

Commenting on the opening, Peter Norman, SVP Owners Relations EAME at Hyatt, said, “We are thrilled to welcome this exceptional hotel into our growing European portfolio, which perfectly reflects the essence of the Destination by Hyatt brand through its celebration of the unique spirit of Greece and its breathtaking natural surroundings. The opening represents a significant milestone in our strategic expansion in Europe, reinforcing our commitment to offering authentic, immersive experiences in the destinations that resonate most with our guests.”
Barefoot Luxury Meets Boho Chic Design
Zélia Halkidiki features a total of 104 guest rooms and suites, each designed with a colour palette of beige, olive green, and deep gray, taking inspiration from the surrounding landscape. The use of natural materials such as raw wood, textured stone, and organic finishes reflects the area’s natural beauty, creating spaces that feel both grounded and effortlessly refined. Custom-made furniture combines contemporary minimalism with earthy textures in the guest rooms, offering a perfect balance of comfort and elegance. Guests can enjoy sea views along with in-room amenities that include a 55-inch smart TV, a rain shower, and Le Labo toiletries.
Embracing Diverse Culinary Traditions
The hotel offers a variety of dining experiences that cater to different tastes while emphasizing quality ingredients and diverse culinary traditions.
Mesogaea invites guests to enjoy a selection of Mediterranean dishes that highlight fresh, seasonal ingredients. In contrast, Shizen presents a contemporary fusion menu that combines Japanese and Peruvian flavours in an elegant setting.
Situated in the hotel’s on-site olive grove, Syntrofi provides a farm-to-table dining experience inspired by the hotel’s vegetable garden. Its menu showcases in-season produce. For those seeking a more relaxed dining atmosphere, the Zest poolside restaurant specializes in authentic Greek cuisine, offering dishes based on traditional recipes and local ingredients.
Wellness Facilities
The hotel’s spa amenities are designed to create an oasis for relaxation and rejuvenation. Guests can enjoy facilities such as a heated indoor pool, a jetted bathtub, soothing sensory showers, and a quiet room. Additionally, the peaceful treatment rooms offer a holistic menu of services to help guests unwind and recharge. Outdoor swimming options include the Hebe infinity pool and the Zest pool, both of which encourage a deeper connection with nature.
Guests are also welcome to partake in daily yoga and Pilates sessions, with reformers available for curated sessions and weekly cinema nights under the stars, held in the hotel’s olive grove.

“Zélia Halkidiki has been carefully curated to reflect the essence of Greek culture, and I am delighted to be welcoming guests to our first Destination by Hyatt branded hotel in the region,” said Giorgos Peroutseas, General Manager, Zélia Halkidiki.
“Every detail of the hotel has been designed to offer guests an authentic, elevated experience rooted in place and purpose and it is the ideal retreat for those seeking to unwind and reconnect.”
