Boeing Partners with Angolan Transport Ministry
Boeing and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Angola signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation. The agreement aims to advance the Angolan aviation sector in partnership with TAAG Angola Airlines. The Republic of Angola has made it a priority to develop the aviation industry to enhance tourism and stimulate economic growth.
The memorandum, signed at the 2025 Paris Air Show, outlines several areas for collaboration between Boeing and TAAG Angola Airlines. These include initiatives to improve operational efficiency through digital transformation, strengthen technical and maintenance capabilities, optimize and expand market and route networks, and support the modernization and growth of the fleet.
“TAAG Angola Airlines, the national airline of Angola, has been a cornerstone of the African aviation landscape since its inception in 1938. As we navigate the complexities of a rapidly evolving global market, it is essential for the airline to not only maintain its competitive edge, but also to embrace innovation and modernization,” said Ricardo Viegas D’Abreu, Minister of Transport, Republic of Angola.

Together, along with the significant investment in our new international airport, we are laying the groundwork for a sustainable and prosperous future for our aviation sector.”

Boeing airplanes make up nearly 70% of the commercial fleet in Africa, serving more than 60 airlines. According to Boeing’s 2025 Commercial Market Outlook, Africa will need over 1,200 new airplanes in the next 20 years to meet increasing demand.
