United Grows Its Pacific Network with New Flights to Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Adelaide and Manila

United will become the only U.S. airline to offer flights to Bangkok, Thailand and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; daily service launches this October from Hong Kong with one-stop connections from Los Angeles and San Francisco.

United Expands Pacific Network

United Airlines has declared its plan to be the sole U.S. airline providing flights to Bangkok, Thailand, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with new daily services from Hong Kong set to launch this fall. These flights are designed for smoother connections for travellers from all over North America, addressing the increasing demand for travel to these locations.

Beginning December 11, United will introduce the first nonstop flights from the U.S. to Adelaide, Australia, right in time for the Australian summer. This new seasonal service, operating three times a week, positions United as the top airline connecting the continental U.S. to Australia, with existing flights to Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.

Moreover, United is introducing a second daily flight between San Francisco and Manila. Beginning October 25, travelers can choose either a daytime or evening flight for added convenience. United is the sole U.S. airline operating in the Philippines, servicing both Manila and Cebu.

With these new additions, United will provide flights from the U.S. to 32 cities in the Pacific region – four times more than any other U.S. carrier – solidifying its position as the world's largest airline with the most comprehensive international network.

United is the premier airline across the Pacific; over the past year, it catered to more than six million business and leisure travellers. Tickets for the Adelaide and new Manila flights are available now on United.com and the United app. Tickets for flights to Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City will be offered for sale later.

Bangkok, Thailand

The service will utilize a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, welcoming local and international travellers to discover the city's rich history. Bangkok, celebrated for its blend of vibrancy and tradition, offers countless opportunities for exploration. Visitors can marvel at numerous ancient temples such as Wat Phra Kaew (The Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn), relax in Lumpini Park – a green sanctuary in the heart of the bustling city- and experience a tuk-tuk ride, savour street foods like mango sticky rice, boat noodles, and gai tod, and conclude their day at the Srinagarindra Train Night Market, alive with local cuisine, vibrant lights, live music, and bars.

Starting October 26, United Airlines will be the sole U.S. carrier providing daily flights to Ho Chi Minh City. These flights will use the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, welcoming local and international travellers eager to delve into the city's rich heritage. Visitors can explore famous attractions such as The Saigon Opera House and Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, ride scooters along scenic rice field pathways, savor delightful Vietnamese dishes from open-air pho stalls and street vendors, and immerse themselves in the vibrant microbrewery culture, among other experiences.

United will become the first airline to provide nonstop flights between the U.S. and Adelaide, with a seasonal service from San Francisco operating three times a week beginning on December 11. This route will be operated using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and expands United's vast network, making it the only airline to have direct flights to four major cities in Australia from the U.S. Furthermore, United's collaboration with Virgin Australia improves travelers' options and connectivity within the country.

Adelaide invites U.S. travelers to leave behind the winter cold and discover its famous wine regions, such as Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale. Tourists can also enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of Kangaroo Island and sample exceptional local products while browsing offerings from over 70 vendors at the Adelaide Central Markets, which is one of the largest fresh produce markets in the Southern Hemisphere.

Manila, Philippines

Starting October 25, United will introduce its second flight service between San Francisco and Manila*, providing U.S. travelers with greater options for day and evening departures to the Philippines. This route will be serviced by a Boeing 777-300ER. Passengers can explore historic landmarks such as San Agustin and Fort Santiago, savor local delicacies like kwek-kwek, turon, and halo-halo from street vendors , enjoy shopping at the Mall of Asia- one of the largest malls in Asia – or immerse themselves in art and history at Manila's national museums. Additionally, travelers can take a day trip to Tagaytay and enjoy a boat ride to witness the breathtaking Taal Volcano, a stunning natural wonder located on its own island.

United's Growing Global Reach
