Qatar Airways Supports Autism Awareness

This year, Qatar Airways collaborated with the Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disabilities to highlight Autism Awareness Month. They introduced special amenity kits showcasing artwork by autistic artists and illuminated their headquarters in blue for the occasion.

The airline organized an autism awareness event for employees at Hamad International Airport to showcase its sensory lounge and the resources available there, emphasizing the importance of supporting neurodivergent passengers and the airline's commitment to inclusivity.

Artwork created by four artists from the Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disabilities was chosen for the Qatar Airways’ long-haul Economy Cabin amenity kits during April. Premium Cabin passengers received amenity kits that highlight the annual campaign.
Also during April, educational seminars were held, and a group of Qatar Airways cabin crew members visited the Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disabilities, where they presented gifts to individuals with autism and joined an employee celebration at its headquarters.

Though the airline recognized Autism Awareness Month in April, its commitment to supporting individuals with autism continues year-round. Located between gates C7 and C9 at Hamad International Airport, the Muzn lounge serves as a sensory room created as a safe haven for travelers with autism. It features interactive sensory elements designed to alleviate travel-related stress. Additionally, Qatar Airways organizes employee workshops on these facilities to enhance their world-class, passenger-focused travel experience.

Celebrating a decade of commitment and community involvement, Qatar Airways continues its strong collaboration with Shafallah to employ over 55 individuals with mental disabilities and autism at the Qatar Airways Shafallah Department. This initiative aims to normalize health challenges and enhance support for the local community. The department has notably empowered its staff while also contributing to waste reduction by recycling 1,000 Premium Cabin amenity kits each day.
To access the Muzn Lounge while travelling, passengers should enter the code “DPNA” when booking their flight with Qatar Airways or during check-in, allowing staff members to direct them to the lounge upon arrival.
