IndiGo’s New Routes Boost Connectivity in Hyderabad and Ahmedabad

IndiGo has announced that it will launch ten daily direct flights from Hyderabad and Ahmedabad in September 2024 to improve domestic connectivity. The new routes and increased flight frequencies aim to enhance domestic connectivity and cater to Telangana and Gujarat’s growing demand for air travel. These additions are expected to benefit business and leisure travellers and those interested in spiritual tourism. Furthermore, these new and additional connections will facilitate more accessible travel from Hyderabad and Ahmedabad to international destinations across Asia. Following this expansion, IndiGo will offer 1220 direct flights a week from Hyderabad to 69 destinations and 523 weekly flights from Ahmedabad to 35 destinations.

The new routes and frequencies will offer customers more options, making travel more accessible and meeting the increasing demand for travel within the region and beyond. As India’s preferred carrier, we are committed to providing on-time, affordable, and convenient travel experiences across our extensive network.”

Over the past year, IndiGo has also strengthened Hyderabad’s connectivity to Southeast Asia with direct flights to Bangkok, Male, Ras Al Khaimah, Singapore, and Colombo, establishing Hyderabad as a prominent regional hub in South India. As the state government emphasizes the tourism potential of Telangana, including eco, spiritual, and medical tourism, IndiGo’s new routes will provide travellers with increased access to popular tourist attractions such as Char Minar, Ramoji Film City, Golconda Fort, Shri Jagannath Temple, Birla Mandir, Hussain Sagar Lake, Qutub Shahi Tombs, Birla Science Museum, Snow World, and Paigah Tombs.

Hirasar village in Gujarat is a gateway for travellers to and from the nearby city of Rajkot and the Saurashtra region. Improving connectivity from Hirasar will offer customers increased access to tourist attractions in Rajkot, including the ISKCON Temple, Pradyuman Zoological Park, Jubilee Garden, Shri Ramakrishnan Ashram, and Aji Dam Garden.

Udaipur, known as the ‘City of Lakes,’ attracts visitors with its picturesque lakes, grand palaces, and intricate architecture. Tourists visit Udaipur to experience its rich cultural heritage, bustling markets, and scenic boat rides on the serene lakes, making it a truly enchanting destination. Jodhpur, known as the “Blue City,” is home to numerous forts, palaces, and temples. It is also a major industrial city in Rajasthan, boasting various industrial complexes and handicrafts. Popular attractions in Jodhpur include Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Ghanta Ghar, and Jaswant Thada.

Amritsar is renowned for its historical significance and is Punjab’s largest and most important city. Various shrines and sacred places of all religions are in this holy city. Notable locations like the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, Wagah Border, Ram Tirth, Gurudwara Shaheed Ganj Sahib, Durgiana Mandir, Guru Bazaar, Gobindgarh Fort, and other places in the outskirts of the district are popular tourist attractions.

Ahmedabad has emerged as one of the country’s most valuable economic and industrial hubs. It is the second-largest cotton producer in India and is famous for its tourist attractions on the banks of the Sabarmati River. Ahmedabad is known for its world-famous cotton textiles, a wide variety of delectable snacks, diamond cutting, and tourist attractions like Sabarmati Ashram, Bhadra Fort, Kankaria Lake, Calico Museum, Swaminarayan Temple, Rani no Hajiro, and more.

Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, is also known as “The Temple City of India,” attracting pilgrims worldwide. The city is a tourist hotspot, boasting beautiful temple architecture and numerous attractions, including the Lingaraj Temple, ISKCON Temple, Tikarpada Wildlife Sanctuary, Rajarani Temple, and Nandankanan Zoological Park. Bhubaneswar is also a major industrial city in Odisha, hosting several iron and steel manufacturing plants.
