Emirates Braces for Busy Weekends

Emirates expects busy travel weekends ahead of and during Eid Al Fitr holiday

Emirates expects high passenger traffic leading up to and during the Eid Al Fitr holiday, with many travelers arriving in and departing from Dubai. Terminal 3 will see its peak departure days on March 28 and 29, as well as April 5 and 6, with over 80,000 daily customers heading overseas for their spring break vacations.

With expected traffic congestion around Terminal 3 entrances, Emirates urges customers departing from Dubai to build in extra time for their journeys to avoid potential delays.

Travellers are advised to arrive at the airport up to 3 hours before their flight and pay attention to their boarding times to guarantee they arrive at the departure gate on time without delays.

Customers have multiple options for check-in. They can check in online at emirates.com or through the Emirates App, which is accessible 48 hours before departure. Additionally, they can use the Emirates City Check-in and Travel Store located at ICD Brookfield Place, available from 24 to 4 hours prior to their flight, excluding those traveling to the US. Home check-in services can also be arranged from their residence or hotel. The airline provides convenient check-in kiosks and baggage drop facilities in Terminal 3, as well as mobile check-in ports scattered throughout the terminal. For travelers departing from the northern Emirates, check-in is offered at the Ajman Central Bus Terminal from 24 to 4 hours before their flight.

Customers can drop off their luggage at the airport for free the night before travel, check in early, and leave their bags up to 24 hours prior to departure, or 12 hours for flights to the US. This allows them to go directly to immigration or the Smart Tunnel for a seamless processing experience.

Passengers should complete passport control and security checks at least 90 minutes before departure. They should also reach the gate no later than 60 minutes before departure for Premium Economy or Economy Class passengers and 45 minutes earlier for First or Business Class passengers. The boarding gates will close 20 minutes before the flight. Late travellers will not be allowed to fly with Emirates. Therefore, it is crucial to strictly follow check-in and gate closure times to ensure timely departures.
