Say Goodbye to Winter Blues with AA
Spring is here, but arranging a winter getaway is easier with American Airlines. Later this year, American will introduce new routes to two popular destinations: Cancun, Mexico (CUN), and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ). Furthermore, the airline will improve its services on flights to Hawaii, South America, and Europe.

“American’s comprehensive global network is designed to give customers more access to the destinations they want to visit,” said Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning.
“Together with new routes, more flights on popular routes and extended seasons to major destinations, American’s schedule is designed for travelers to get away to sun, sand and more next winter.”
More Flights To More Beaches Than Any Other Airline
This winter, American Airlines will provide over 270 peak daily departures to sought-after beach destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America from the U.S., surpassing all other airlines. Beginning Nov. 8, American will become the first airline to initiate international service from Oklahoma, introducing flights to Cancun, Mexico (CUN), from Oklahoma City (OKC).
American is the preferred choice for travellers heading to CUN. With over 40 peak-day flights from 19 locations launching in November, customers will find it easier to explore beaches, immerse themselves in new cultures, and savor the delightful cuisine of Cancun and the Riviera Maya with American than with any other airline.
Recently, Punta Cana won the top spot in American’s March Map-ness bracket due to its great fares and a special flash sale. Now, customers can take advantage of a last-minute opportunity with four new routes to this vacation destination starting Dec. 6. This winter, with more than 20 peak-day departures to 11 U.S. locations from PUJ, it’s a perfect time to start planning an ideal getaway with American’s convenient flights.

Beginning just in time for Thanksgiving, American Airlines will enhance service from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to Hawaii by resuming its Kona (KOA) route and expanding service to Kahului (OGG). In addition to recently announced winter flights from Chicago (ORD) to Honolulu (HNL), American will provide over 15 daily flights connecting the continental U.S. to Hawaii. Flights from DFW and ORD to Hawaii will feature nonstop service and premium cabins equipped with lie-flat seats, plus access to over 1,500 complimentary entertainment options on board. As part of its ongoing effort to improve the in-flight experience, American will introduce refreshed dining selections this spring and summer in premium cabins, showcasing island-inspired dishes such as locally flavored chicken with jasmine rice, surf and turf with truffle yaki sauce, vegetable curry with seared tofu, and more.
American leads the airline industry in offering the most daily flights between the U.S. and South America and is set to expand its services to popular vacation spots this holiday season. From December to January, the airline will provide up to four daily flights from Miami (MIA) to Buenos Aires, Argentina (EZE), marking a record number of flights. Additionally, American will offer up to 10 weekly flights between DFW and Sao Paulo (GRU), which represents over a 40% increase in weekly service compared to last winter. Across the U.S., American will offer up to 10 daily flights to Brazil, surpassing all other airlines. Traveling to Europe during the fall and winter provides fewer crowds and special seasonal experiences. To meet growing customer demand for European travel, American will extend select summer routes to Athens, Greece (ATH); Barcelona, Spain (BCN); and Dublin (DUB) throughout this winter.

Connecting customers to American’s global network
American’s premier domestic network is set to expand with the addition of new routes to Iowa and Arkansas this fall. Starting on October 6, American will introduce the only nonstop flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Des Moines, Iowa (DSM) and from Phoenix (PHX) to Little Rock, Arkansas (LIT). These new services will connect through American’s western hubs — LAX and PHX — to a variety of destinations in the western U.S., Mexico, Australia, Japan, and beyond this winter.
Winter vacations offer diverse activities, from building sandcastles on sunny beaches to hitting the slopes for skiing. For those considering a ski trip to Colorado, American is enhancing travel convenience with new seasonal flights between Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT) and Aspen, Colorado (ASE), which will start on December 19. This service complements the existing routes between CLT and Denver (DEN) and marks American’s inaugural nonstop connection from CLT to ASE, opening up access to one of the most sought-after winter outdoor locations.
