The new flight was also in the news as the passengers on the flight claimed that the airline, which was serving liquor on board, ran out of its stock very quickly during the almost four-hour flight, even before landing. However, the airline, Air India Express, has refuted any such claims, saying that the airline was following the strict rule of not serving more than 100 ml of liquor to a passenger. Citing this rule, the airline said that they had enough stock on board and were able to serve everyone whilst adhering to the guidelines.

Various premium liquor options were available on board, such as Chivas Regal and Red Label. The airline also provided an extensive menu of food items for the guests, which they could order during the flight or pre-order their food. The new flight route comes as another way of Air India Express, part of the Air India umbrella, to expand its services and mark its name in the international market.
