AirAsia Launches “50 Years Thailand–China” Aircraft Livery to Mark Diplomatic Milestone
AirAsia, along with Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, has introduced a special aircraft livery celebrating 50 years of diplomatic ties between Thailand and China.
The new design, featured on a Thai AirAsia Airbus A320 (HS-BBR), will fly across Asia. It highlights AirAsia’s strong presence on Thailand–China routes, currently covering 10 cities.
The livery showcases the official 50th-anniversary emblem, featuring China’s dragon and Thailand’s naga, along with a greeting in Thai and Chinese: “สวัสดี – 你好 (Nihao).” It reflects the lasting friendship and cultural ties between the two nations.

Mr.Santisuk Klongchaiya, CEO of Thai AirAsia, said: “Thailand and China share a long-standing relationship across many dimensions, especially in tourism, where both countries are top destinations for each other’s travellers. With mutual visa exemptions now in place, travel between the two nations has become even more seamless. China remains one of AirAsia’s key markets, and we are proud to serve a wide network of routes covering both major and secondary cities.”
“We are honoured to present this special livery as part of the 50-year celebration. The aircraft also features themed in-flight materials to mark the occasion. In total, two aircraft will be painted with this commemorative design, with the second one expected to be completed by August,” Mr.Santisuk added.
To celebrate, AirAsia is offering one-way fares from THB 500 for bookings between 9–13 July 2025, for travel from 28 July to 30 November 2025 via airasia.com or the AirAsia MOVE app.
AirAsia is also running a social media contest. Travelers spotting or flying on the special livery can win prizes by sharing photos using the hashtags #FlyAirAsia #แอร์เอเชียฉลองไทยจีน50ปี #ไปจีนไปกับแอร์เอเชีย from 9–23 July 2025.
