Air Canada Foundation Raises $1.3 Million at Annual Golf Tournament to Support Children’s Programs
The Air Canada Foundation hosted its 13th annual Golf Tournament at Club de golf Le Mirage in Terrebonne, Quebec, raising $1.3 million to support the health and well-being of children and youth across Canada.
This year’s event brought together 296 guests and more than 90 sponsors, including corporate partners, suppliers, and vendors. Funds raised will be distributed through the Foundation’s annual grants program, supporting children and youth from underserved communities.
“Each year, this tournament offers a chance to reconnect, enjoy a round of golf, and most importantly, come together to support children and youth across Canada,” said Michael Rousseau, President and CEO of Air Canada.
“The event highlights how collaboration can create positive change for families and communities.”
Priscille LeBlanc, Chair of the Air Canada Foundation, added, “We are grateful to Air Canada’s partners, supporters, and volunteers for their continued efforts in helping improve the lives of children and families.”
In 2024, the Air Canada Foundation donated $1.8 million to charitable organizations in Canada. These funds helped provide approximately 900,000 meals to address food insecurity, supported schools in Indigenous communities, and contributed to children’s well-being through programs such as the Dr. Clown Foundation’s social paediatrics initiative in Manawan, Quebec.
The tournament was organized and hosted by Air Canada employees, some of whom also contributed their talents to the event. Yoko Sawai, Customer Experience Specialist, performed during the cocktail reception. The Dr. Clown Foundation engaged with guests throughout the day, while participants from HEROS Hockey ran a lemonade stand that raised over $12,000. A new addition this year, the “Plinko of Generosity” game, raised nearly $15,000 to support local autism organizations through the Foundation’s Autism Aviation Days.
The Air Canada Foundation also recently released its 2024 Impact Report, outlining its contributions and partnerships over the past year, including fundraising and employee-driven initiatives.
