JAL Scholarship Program Marks 50 Powerful Years of Shaping Global Leaders
The JAL Scholarship Program celebrates 50 transformative years in 2025, having empowered around 1,700 students from Asia and Oceania since its launch in 1975.
Born from a vision to strengthen Japan’s ties with its neighbours, the program has evolved from cultural immersion to developing “Global Citizens” equipped to tackle sustainability and global challenges. Alumni now serve as ministers, diplomats, scholars, and business leaders worldwide.
Looking ahead, JAL plans to expand the program through hybrid learning, enhancing cross-border collaboration and nurturing future leaders dedicated to building sustainable, multicultural societies.
