Emirates Shares Top Summer Destinations for 2025 Based on Travel Trends
With international travel on the rise this summer, Emirates has released its latest analysis of booking and search data, highlighting where travellers are heading in July and August. The airline notes a growing interest in cultural experiences and less-explored locations.
Flight searches for summer travel have increased by 7% compared to last year. France leads with a 35% rise in outbound travel searches, followed by Ireland, Canada, and Saudi Arabia. Germany and the UAE also show strong growth in search volumes.
Top Summer Destinations for 2025
Vietnam has seen the most significant surge in interest, with a 61% jump in searches and bookings. Emirates now serves three cities in Vietnam—Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang—with convenient connections to Europe and the US. Da Nang, the airline’s newest destination, is renowned for its UNESCO World Heritage sites and stunning coastal scenery, while Vietnam’s rich food culture continues to draw visitors.
Mauritius ranks second, with a 41% increase in searches. Emirates offers two daily A380 flights to the island. Sri Lanka follows with a 32% rise in interest, attracting travellers with its cultural landmarks, beaches, and affordable luxury.
Japan remains a strong favourite, with a 28% increase in searches. Emirates operates flights to Tokyo’s Narita and Haneda airports, as well as Osaka, appealing to visitors seeking both traditional and modern experiences.
France rounds out the top five, with a 25% increase in searches. Emirates operates multiple daily flights to Paris, Nice, and Lyon.
Travel Trends Across Key Markets
In the UAE, searches for Emirates flights have increased by 13%, with strong demand for destinations such as Sri Lanka, France, India, Jordan, Lebanon, and Morocco.
US travellers are showing more interest in Africa, particularly Egypt, Kenya, and South Africa. UK travellers are searching more for long-haul destinations such as New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and Mauritius.
Indian travellers are looking at Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland, while Australian travellers are focusing on Europe, especially France and the UK. German travellers are showing more interest in Asian destinations, including Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, and the Seychelles.
Emirates also notes that many travellers, especially from India, Australia, the UK, and Germany, are taking extended summer breaks, with nearly a third travelling for over a month. US travellers typically take shorter trips of 2-3 weeks.
Dubai’s Visitor Mix
Dubai continues to attract a mix of visitors this summer. Solo travellers account for almost half of visitors from the US, India, and Australia, often combining business with leisure trips.
Family travel trends vary: one-third of US and Indian visitors travel as families, with Indian families preferring shorter stays and American families visiting for 1-2 weeks. UK families often stay longer, with many extending their visits beyond two weeks.
Couples, especially from Australia and Germany, are also frequent visitors, often staying for two weeks or longer to explore the city.
