AirAsia Introduces New Southern Thai Dishes Featuring Longan, Supporting Local Farmers

From July to September 2025, AirAsia is offering a new “Bold Southern Thai Flavours” in-flight menu on both Thai AirAsia (FD) and Thai AirAsia X (XJ) flights. This seasonal menu showcases Southern Thai cuisine, featuring longan as a key ingredient, introduced in partnership with the Department of Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce, to support local fruit farmers.
Seasonal Menu Highlights
Ornanong Methapipattanakul, Director of In-flight Products and Services for Thai AirAsia, said:
“We’re bringing the bold flavors of Southern Thailand onboard this season, with a focus on regional ingredients like longan. Future menus will continue to rotate with other seasonal produce.”
Prices start at THB 100, and the new menu includes:

Southern Yellow Curry Seafood with Basil Omelette – A curry dish featuring sea bass and shrimp, accompanied by a Thai-style omelette.

Kua Kling Kai with Sunny Salted Egg – Spicy minced chicken stir-fried with southern herbs, topped with a salted fried egg.

Hat Yai Fried Chicken with Longan Sauce – Crispy chicken served with a sweet longan glaze.

O-Aew Fresh Longan Fruit – A Southern-style dessert drink with jelly, longan, goji berries, and Job’s tears.
Additional International Options on Thai AirAsia X
Thai AirAsia X will also introduce two Japanese-inspired dishes on international flights in July:

Gyudon – Sliced marbled beef simmered in savoury Japanese-style sauce.

Ebi Zaru Soba – Cold soba noodles served with shrimp and dipping sauce.
These new meals will be available on all domestic and international routes starting from 1 July 2025. Pre-booking starts from 16 July, allowing passengers to select their meal in advance and save on onboard purchases.
