APPOINTMENT
In preparation for the upcoming rebranding of the Conservatorium Hotel under the Mandarin Oriental brand in early 2026, Susanne Hatje has been appointed as General Manager, effective 2 June 2025. Sussane Hatje brings over 28 years of international experience in the hospitality sector, including 18 years in senior roles within Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
The Conservatorium Hotel, located in Amsterdam’s Museum Quarter, opened in 2011 and will continue its transition over the coming months in line with brand and operational changes.

Most recently, Sussane served as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Mayfair in London, where she oversaw the pre-opening and launch of the hotel from 2022. Prior to that, she led the award-winning Mandarin Oriental, New York for nine years. Her extensive background includes senior positions in Munich, Hong Kong, Boston, Las Vegas, and Hawaii, as well as a key role in the openings of Mandarin Oriental, Boston and The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong.
In her new role at the Conservatorium Hotel, Sussane will draw on her international expertise to guide the hotel’s upcoming rebranding and repositioning. Her longstanding experience with brand transformations will be instrumental in elevating the hotel to new levels of excellence.
